Prologue:

Tibby's, Lena's, Bridget's and Carmen's mother go to a aerobic group for pregnant woman. The september group start to hang out after the lessons. Lena borns at first at the end of August. Tibby and Bridget born in the beginning of September and Carmen at last, in the middle of September. The mothers meet each other and talk while the four girls play. The girls become best friends.

A few years later, Mrs. Kaligaris, Lena, Effie and Carmen go to a second hand shop next to a shop called 'yes!'. Carmen buys a jeans for 3,46 Pounds without trying them on. She forgets about them. She fetches them in the night before they all journ to different places in the summer holidays.

Chapter 1:

Carmen, Lena, Tibby and Bridget sit in Carmen’s room. Carmen packs her bag for the flight and they talk to each other about their plans for the summer holidays. Then Tibby sees the pants lying in Carmen’s room. Tibby asks Carmen for the pants. Carmen gives it to her. The girls try them on. The pants fits them perfectly. They are all surprised about the pants . At quarter to ten they meet each other in front of the dance studio. They break into the studio, spread out the pants and lit candles. They decide to have ten rules about wearing the pants.

Chapter 2:

Tibby drives with her bicycle to her work at Wallman's.

Bridget arrives in the football camp for girls, inspects it and goes to dinner.

Chapter 3:

Lena and her younger sister Effie go to Greek where their grandparents welcome them. Her grandmother shows Lena her room.

Tibby starts working at Wallman's. She thinks her boss doesn't really like her.

Chapter 4:

Lena sits next to the window of her room in Greece in the house of her grandparents. She unpacks her suitcase and searches the pants. She puts them on and goes downstairs into the kitchen. Her grandmother organize a party. Her grandmother asks her to switch her clothes, because she wants Lena to look beautiful for a boy called Kostos.

At the same time Carmen arrives in the hometown of her father. He comes to pick her from the airport. On the ride home they talk. At home her father introduces her Lydia, the woman he wants to marry, and her children.

Chapter 5:

Lena gets to know Kostos. Lena thinks he likes her. Bridget develops feelings for a coach, named Eric, who works at the football camp. She tries to impress him.

Chapter 6:

Tibby hears a crash in aisle two at Wallman's. She sees a little girl lying on the floor. Tibby asks for someone calling the emergency. The emergency guys come and ask Tibby some questions. She comes along with the girl in the car of the ambulance.

Carmen is angry with her dad, because she feels unwelcome in the new family of her dad and she doesn't like them. She calls her mother and tells her about her dad's new family.

Bridget tells Diana she has feelings for Eric. She takes part in the endurance training of the other team just to talk to Eric. They talk happily. Then he asks her for her mother and Bridget tells him she has died. She tells him she is older than she is. After a race they swim.

Chapter 7:

Lena goes to draw. On her way to the harbor she meets Kostos.

Tibby drives to the home of Bailey to deliver her the purse. Bailey and Tibby talk to each other. Carmen’s dad and Lydia are not at home, so the kids from Lydia, Krista and Paul, make a Fun-Party. Carmen feels alone.

Chapter 8:

Tibby thinks about Bailey and her movie.

Bridget talks to the other girls about Eric. Then she goes towards Eric to talk to him.

Chapter 9:

Bailey visits Tibby at Wallman's at Tibby notices Bailey tries to look older, to look like her. Bailey invites her to eat ice cream to thank her for saving her life.

Bridget and Eric dance close in a disco called Hotel Hacienda. He whispered in her ear they can't do that.

Bapi, the grandfather of Lena, punches the grandfather of Kostos.

Chapter 10:

Carmen wants to play tennis. They talk about the wedding and make an intermediate stop at the football match of Paul. Then her father has to go to organize something for the wedding. Carmen is angry about her father and feels neglected.

At a soccer match Bridget wants to impress Eric. In the night she can’t sleep so she goes to the beach to swim.

Chapter 11:

Kostos sees Lena nude bathing. Then there is a brawl between the grandfathers of the two, because of the incident.

Bailey comes into Tibby’s room, they talk about the documentary film. Later Bailey phones Tibby and says she knows somebody to interview. They meet Brian at Wallman's.

Carmen wants to do something with her father.

Chapter 12:

Brian McBrian tells Tibby and Bailey how to play the videogame 'dragonball' for an interview.

Eric tells Bridget he doesn't want her to want him.

Lena is sad because her grandfather doesn't talk her and because Kostos doesn't talk to her. She goes shopping with Effie.

Chapter 13:

Carmen, Lydia and Krista are at the tailor. They try on the dresses for the wedding. When they discover that the dress does not fit at Carmen, they make hurtful remarks. Carmen is angry and sad. She leaves the shop.

Bailey and Tibby sit together and Bailey admired her pants. So Tibby tell her the whole story about the ‘traveling’ pants. Subsequently they work at the film and Tibby.

Bridget can’t sleep again, so she goes to the beach to walk along. Then she goes to the hut from the coaches. Eric comes out and they talk.

Chapter 14:

Tibby and Bailey cut the film. Bailey tries the Pants on and interviews Tibby.

Lena tries to tell her grandmmother it has not been Kostos' fault.

Bridget tries to phone Tibby.

Carmen's father asks her for her day, but she doesn't answer. She feels invisible.

Chapter 15:

After running away Carmen decides to go back to the house of her father, because she doesn't want him worry about her. Her father sits on the dining table and prays with them. She is angry and throw a rock against the window. She looks her father in the eyes, runs away and takes a bus home.

Lena meets Kostos in a shop and wants to talk to him. Kostos doesn't answer.

Chapter 16:

Bridget tells her friends she wants to kiss Eric.

Carmen returns home and tells Tibby the whole story. They start to argue.

Bridget decides to come back to the camp in the next year.

Chapter 17:

Lena thinks about Kostos all the time. She goes to his favoourite swimplace and sees him swimming, naked. She feels ashamed.

Bridget can't sleep. She goes to the beach and thinks about Eric. Than she viisits Eric in his room and they have some very intimate moments.

Carmen feels bad about being mad at her father.

Chapter 18:

Lena thinks about Kostos. So she asks her grandmother why Kostos is living with his grandparents. She tells her about the car accident, where his parents and his younger brother have died.

Bridget's friends want to know everything about the lasgt night. Bridget doesn't tell anything about the sex. After breakfast she misses the training to go sleeping.

Chapter 19:

Eric tells Bridget they should ignore what has happened.

Tibby interviews Carmen and they get into a dispute when Tibby asks something about Carmen's father.

Tibby waits for Bailey, when she doesn't arrive Tibby drives to Bailey's home. Her neighbour tells Tibby she is in hospital and very ill.

Chapter 20:

Lena wants to give Kostos her paintings.

Tibby doesn't go to work. She notices her hamster, Mimi, is dead. She puts it in the cooler.

Carmen talks with her mother about her father.

Tibby lies in her bed and doesn't annswer her dad or the telephone.

Bridget has to play in her final game. She doesn't play very good and the others of her team doesn't play good too. Her instructor interrupts the game.

Chapter 21:

Tibby watches tv when Bailey's mother calles. She wants her to visit Bailey.

Carmen calls her father to tell him she is mad at him. Then she visits Tibby, but Tibby doesn't want her to come in.

Tibby goes back to Carmen and Carmen orders her to visit Bailey in the hospital. At midnight she visits Bailey. She lays down next to her.

Chapter 22:

Lena tells Effie she has feelings for Kostos. Effie tells her to tell him about them.

Tibby wakes up in the hospital next to Bailey. Tibby goes to work.

Carmen decides to go to the wedding of her father. She starts to like his new family.

Eric tells Bridget she is to young. Bridget cries.

Chapter 23:

Carmen makes wedding pictures with the new family of her father. Then she dances with Paul.

Tibby is very sad beacuase of Bailey's illness . She always remembers in her and starts crying when somebody asks her for Bailey.

Lena tells Kostos about her feelings and gives him her picture. They hug and kiss.

Chapter 24:

After leaving the hospital Tibby visits Brian.

Bailey dies.

Lena reads the letter of Bridget on her flight back home. She decides to go to Mulegé. Effie gives her her last money and Lena visits Bridget, because she worries about her. Lena and Bridget talk about what has happened. Lena tells Bridget that she isn't alone and that she's going to fix it. Brtidget says Lena maybe just has done.

Epilogue:

Carmen thinks the Pants has changed them into other people. But she thinks about that in a good way.

Carmen has a second, new family and her relation to her father is better.

Lena is in love with Kostos.

Bridget knows that she isn't like her depressive mother, so she doesn't have to frightened.

Tibby has learned more about friendship and about lose somebody and stand up. Bailey has given her more courage, self-confidence and fun.
